Learning is the one path we are ALL on -whether we like it or not.

Intent to Apply

Having the intent to apply what one is studying makes a world of difference. WHY are you studying?

- to get approval.

 - to apply the information learned in the real world.

Think about it. If your kids are listening to what you're telling them just so they can get your approval, so they can get back to what they were doing  - whats the amount of attention they are giving? You know its going in one ear and out the other. Consider the difference if you are telling them where the candy is hidden at grandma's house.

Think then.  If you have the intention to apply what you are studying you are going to be a LOT more attentive. You're going to want to know how it relates to the other stuff. You'll be very open to other viewpoints about the subject. AND you'll remember it all won't you?

So how about adding this tool to your Student Toolbox?

Drill:

1. Take a concept being taught.

 2. Ask yourself "How can I apply this?"

 3. "How does it relate to what I already know about this area?"

There is no defense against persistent good feeling toward, and acceptance of others.

There is a set number of mistakes, and we all make them sooner or later.
