Maximum learning occurs on first look. Continuing to look learns less.
It's like hitting a nail with a hammer. The initial blow with the hammer drives in the nail a good bit. But holding the hammer on the nail and pushing doesn't do much good. Instead one draws back (looks away) and drives it again (a fresh look).
To get a fresh look one has to completely drop the subject and take up something else, THEN go back to the first subject. That's why we take breaks. That's why we sleep. (And that's why we die.)
There is no defense against persistent good feeling toward, and acceptance of others.
There is a set number of mistakes, and we all make them sooner or later.
