Study is the three step action of duplicating (making a copy of) and then understanding, an idea, thought, concept, attitude or subject and then acknowledging or summing it up. Then repeat the three step action on another unknown or partially known subject or area.
If you can't dupicate it, you can't understand it. If you can't dupicate it then go find out what the thing is you can't duplicate. Then understanding will occur
It appears to be extremly complex and hard if one does not know the tools. (Building a house is really really hard without housebuilding tools AND the knowhow AND the experience of building houses.
As a beginning student of the subject of STUDY you first get aquainted with the tools of study, learn a little bit about each tool. Then you learn where and when to use which tool. Then you go back and learn a little more about each tool. Then go over how and when each tool is used. Back & forth as much as necessary. Then you put the tools to use and build some personal knowledge (learn something). Then go back and study the tools again, study how, when and in what sequence to use them, then build some more houses of knowledge.
Remember: "Thinking you know everything about something shuts off any further learning of that something. You'll be stupid and not even know it."
In studying subjects, you are both a student and a teacher. You have to be a teacher watching your 'student self ' learning the new thing and know when 'he' is not fully understanding the material and have yourself go back and apply the right study tool to fix it (learn) and then resume.
There is no defense against persistent good feeling toward, and acceptance of others.
There is a set number of mistakes, and we all make them sooner or later.
